Camp Information
Housing, room access, and what to pack for Life Defenders Summer Camp.
What Every Student Should Know
Read these arrival and housing details before camp so you know how to enter the dorm, find your room, and prepare for your stay.
Dorm Key &
Building Swipe Card
The dorms’ outside doors lock automatically. You will receive a building swipe card for access and a door key for your dorm room in case you accidentally lock yourself out.
Each dorm room receives one swipe card and one room key. You will share both with your roommate.
The swipe card and room key will be together on a Saint Francis-issued lanyard, hanging on the inside handle of your dorm door when you arrive. If you do not see it there, your roommate probably already has it.
Room Number & Roommate
Your dorm room number and roommate will appear on the front of your registration packet and on the back of the camp lanyard inside it.
We match requested roommates whenever possible, but preferred roommate assignments cannot be guaranteed.
Dorm Layout & Bathrooms
Male and female high school students stay on separate floors and do not share bathrooms. Chaperones also sleep in the dorms.
Clare generally has two students per room, with one bathroom connecting two rooms—so no more than four students share a bathroom.
If camp grows large enough to use both Clare and Bonzel, Bonzel provides dorm-style bathrooms with shower stalls and multiple sinks.
Sleeping Off Campus
Students from Fort Wayne or surrounding areas who are uncomfortable staying on campus may go home each night.
The registration cost does not change because the fee is already much lower than the actual cost of camp.
DeadlineNotify Phoebe no later than one week before camp if you plan to sleep off campus.
